Florida Dental Insurance: A Gift worth Giving

Many parents in Florida wonder what the best gift to give their children is, yet the never even consider that the answer might be dental insurance.

Curtis Thornton’s life was in turmoil and his father had just accepted a new construction contract job in Florida. This was the fifth move in the past six years and it was getting to be a routine, a much despised routine! First they had moved from his childhood home in upstate New York to the rainy yet still cold, Seattle, Washington. Then when Curtis was just starting third grade they moved again, this time back across the country to Portland, Maine, which of course, was even colder. Fourth grade rolled around and the family was off again, setting out for a remote rural town in Pennsylvania, where the sight of snow was almost as common as the site of Amish buggies being pulled by horses. Mid way through fifth grade, despite Curtis really settling into the Pennsylvania school, the family was off again, this time to Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Curtis didn’t much like the big city atmosphere of Minneapolis, but far worse then the constant hustle and bustle of honking cars and load people was the school. Oh, the dreaded school. Curtis was teased mercilessly for his thick New York accent and even more mercilessly for his overbite. Many days Curtis would come home from school in tears and beg his mother and father to pay for him to get braces, but every time he heard the same answer, “We’re sorry honey but we don’t have dental insurance.”

When little Curtis first heard that his father had accepted a new job, he new that meant yet another new city and state to get used which he was not looking forward to, and this time, there would not be any of the comforting and familiar snow, just rays and rays and rays of sun! However his father’s new job and the big move also meant that little Curtis Thornton would have to enroll in a new school, make new friends and deal with a new round of teasing. If Curtis was not looking forward to adapting from the Northern states snow to the hot Florida sun, he was downright dreading adapting to a new school and all the hassles that come with it.

Little Curtis Thornton’s worst nightmares came through on his first day in his new Florida school. The school bully, a beefy boy with a huge nose and crooked teeth, named Ronald Jacobs but who was called “Little J” for some strange reason, must have seen fresh meat in little Curtis Thornton. Before the first class was over, Little J had already knocked Curtis’ books out of his hand, blew two spit wads into his hair, taped a “kick me” sign on his back and called him a name he had heard back in Minneapolis: Horse Mouth. The rest of the day seemed to be a continuous repeat of that first horrible hour.

Little Curtis Thornton stumbled into his new house with his head hung low and a sincere desire to just retreat to his bedroom to play video games and eat candy bars until he fell asleep. However, all of that depression flew out the window upon hearing his father’s declaration when he came from his first day on the job. “Curtis, I have a surprise for you. I know it isn’t your birthday or anything but your mother and I want to give you a present, you know, for being such a trooper yet again. We want to give you braces! Actually, you, me and your mother are all going to be getting braces!” Curtis was shocked. “Dad, every time I ever asked for braces you said no, because you couldn’t afford them and didn’t have dental insurance or whatever it’s called”. Curtis’ dad flashed his charming smile and said, “That was before we got Florida dental insurance buddy”!

Little Curtis’ father spent the next hour over a take away pizza dinner, telling Curtis and his mother how he had impressed his new boss so much on his first day on the job, that his boss decided to not only employ him for this one supermarket job, but for as long as he wished to work for the company. What looked like a two year contract had now turned out to be much more. It had turned out to be a lifetime contract, with a guaranteed salary, a company vehicle, the peace of mind the comes from being able to call a place “home”, and of course, new braces for little Curtis!

It’s been three and a half years since Curtis and his family relocated to sunny Florida and today Curtis can be found walking the halls of his school with his head held high and a smile on his face, a face free of any overbite, all thanks to Florida dental insurance!

Paradise On A Golf Course

One would think it was “paradise on a golf course” when playing in Las Vegas and on the numerous golf courses this “sin city” boasts. Majestic rolling hills cradle some of the courses along with rolling fairways and rising and falling greens that create hidden challenges even for the most talented golfer On any golf course, prominent white sand bunkers and water features are obstacles to be tamed and with tough pin positions, the challenge invites even the most undaunted golf enthusiast to rely on personal strategy and not distance. Of course the primary goal with any popular golf course is to see to it that your golf experience is very pleasant and that customer service is uniquely offered by a professional staff ensuring events are run smoothly.

Almost all golf courses have a large practice facility, a pro-shop, as well as a place to sit and relax along with complimentary bar and food services. Social outings and corporate events are tailor made to groups requesting special treatment and the pro shop staff is willing to offer gift ideas for your family, friends and clients. Golf shops are known for their quality, value and style and offer full range golf accessories. Name brand clubs, golf balls, ball markers as well as fashionable clothing can be purchased with the optimistic viewpoint that any handicap can be lowered.

There are numerous packages offered by golf courses. With an exclusive corporate package, a game of golf, hard earned awards and private tournament menus, in addition to the facilities, will sell the prospective golf player to try his abilities on any course promising to supply their “out of this world” amenities.

There are courses noted for their golf clubhouses which can include a meeting/banquet area, as well as men and women’s locker rooms. Some clubhouses feature private patios with fireplaces, allowing a panoramic view of the surrounding area while enjoying an extensive culinary selection ranging from pleasing-to-the-palate buffets all the way to sophisticated dining experiences.

For that special occasion where the “I do’s” and the desire to live happily ever after becomes a reality, there are golf course weddings in Las Vegas and all the trimmings that go along with it. Indoor or outdoor services are available and some wedding packages will include an arbor, chairs, place settings, music and even the all important rehearsal for any last minutes changes. Complete with made to order ice sculptures, hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and a variety of traditional meals will round out this special day with family and friends. The only thing not on the menu is the promised weather forecast but even then accommodations are available to assure your delightful day doesn’t become a drowning experience.

Pack your golf clubs, your family, friends, or coworkers and “head for paradise on a golf course.” Your pet unfortunately will have to stay at home. Whether this is for pleasure or a life altering experience, your “fun in the sun” will prove to be a memorable experience as you challenge yourself on the many
golf courses begging to be conquered.

The Golf Greens of Las Vegas

Welcome to Las Vegas, the Entertainment Capital of the World, with its casinos, music acts and… golf? Oh yes, it’s true! Though well known for its fantastic casinos, Las Vegas also has great courses – heaven for the avid golfer.

Speaking of – hi, I’m the avid golfer. I had an unexpected windfall early last year that gave me enough money to take some time off. I didn’t take the whole year, but my wife and I run our own business providing fishing expeditions, so all I had to do was leave instructions with our manager.

My wife, who loves slot machines, wanted to go to a casino near our home – Missouri, where nothing ever happens. Instead, I surprised her with tickets to Las Vegas, where we spent four wonderful, fun-filled months. She played at the casinos of course, and I took the longest tour known to man of the greens. I didn’t even have to worry about the Las Vegas golf rates; for the first time in my life, money wasn’t an issue – besides, they really weren’t as expensive as I thought they’d be.

It was beautiful – nothing but the clubs, the green, the wind and me. I spent three days at a golf club that was more like a private club than anything else; the course was amazing. Designed by Palmer, it’s 6,857 yards, has large bunkers and sixty-eight greens. Okay, with the large landing zones and bailout areas, you have to aim at the hazards to hit them, but it was a great place to practice my shots.

One of the other places had three nine-hole layouts; it even had a 28th hole, which came in handy when I made a bet with a fellow player during the original game. Turns out this 28th hole is specifically for settling these types of wagers. When we walked into the clubhouse after the round, the guy at the counter just grinned and pointed.

This golf club was fantastic. It had Bob Cupp designs for mountains, valleys and deserts; the mountain area has a 653-yard third hole and ends with a 616-yard par 5. The third hole is where my opponent and I had our differences and made the bet. No, I won’t tell you what it was about – it’s embarrassing and only happened due to the heat of golfing battle.

After it was over, we both decided that perhaps we should make use of the on-site golf academy and driving range. In other words, we told each other that we weren’t as good as we thought we were – and proved it with the scorecards.

I think I played at over fifteen different clubs. I met five different guys who lived within one hundred miles of me; one just happened to be an instructor. He joked about offering me free golf lessons when we got back, but I’m going to remind him about it. To make the vacation perfect, my wife won enough money that we ended up coming home with more than we spent!

Firefighter Training – Innovation and Improvisation

“A little fire is quickly trodden out; Which, being suffer’d, rivers cannot quench “ - Shakespeare in King Henry the Sixth, Part III
Firefighting is an art and a skill in itself that requires guts, determination and a composed approach. These characteristics depend upon the availability of highly trained fire personnel, coupled by technologically advanced firefighting equipment. “An incoming fire has the right of way”, goes the saying and hence fire departments constantly strive for the firefighting team’s safety and effectiveness on the job. Using the right technologically advanced tools incorporated into the system for maintaining and updating intellectual and infrastructure excellence in fire training, a controlled environment is facilitated to firefighters not only to hone their skills, but also to allow quick and easy control over the conditions. For better job performance, firefighters learn the best procedures and safety methods necessary, through the realistic settings provided by a variety of modern fire training equipment and live fire trainers. The Fire fighting teams are thus assured of receiving comprehensive training necessary to do their jobs safely and effectively. From fixed fire simulators to portable ones, fire departments can choose the option that will work best for their department. If existing departments have their own facility, they can modify it with LPG technology to make it more realistic and challenging for their team. Fire equipment manufacturers and providers, have been designing their products so as to be user friendly and economical to operate and maintain. They also exhibit their live fire training centers and show them in action. These shows project the distinct advantages of upcoming technology and fire training facilities under the most realistic and tough conditions possible. Seasoned firefighters perfect their skills while at the same time younger firefighter recruits learn the basics of firefighting with these effective hands-on-training facilities. The numerous safety features built into the units provide a very safe setting for the firefighters and a strong piece of mind for the training officers. The fire and ventilation props are so impressive that firefighters can be trained on real fire ground operations in an extremely safe and controlled environment. Fire trainers can control the fire in the scenarios and monitor on how well their students effectively tackle fire attacks. Modern technology has allowed trainers to continually train their personnel in a realistic atmosphere, under safest conditions using the fixed/portable fire safety units. Having a moveable burn room that is quick and easy to set up and take down, has improved logistics in fire training. No longer are companies taken out of service and out of town to remote sites for live burns. Always striving for customer satisfaction are the staff of fire equipment manufacturers, who are extremely knowledgeable, courteous and customer-service-oriented. Their live fire trainers will work with the trainees to help meet their training objectives. It’s the most effective and efficient method of letting firefighters “put the wet stuff on the red stuff” while maintaining the fact that “a crooked log makes a straight fire”.

Learning the Real Estate Inspection Language

The past few years have revealed many major changes in the real estate market, making continuing education a necessity for real estate professionals. With a record number of homes being foreclosed upon and sitting empty for long periods of time, building inspection classes are becoming more important. To receive or maintain your residential inspection license, you must keep up with industry changes. For those individuals wanting to invest in this buyers market, both commercial and residential structural inspection educational opportunities are on the rise. So what should you look for when choosing which of these courses are right for your needs?

First, you need to make sure that the courses are being offered by certified professionals in the residential structural inspection industry. Experts that have worked in the real estate industry for a long time will be more than happy to share their credentials with you, and credible companies will invite you to see their facilities prior to signing up for courses. Even if you decide to take advantage of online learning courses, you should be confident that there are real estate professionals that will be available to answer your questions. Many companies offering online residential building inspection classes will offer a sample course, or free trial so that you can experience what you will be learning, and who will be teaching you.

Next, you will want to check out the pricing structure and compare what is offered to other choices in the market. Building inspection classes should not break the bank, especially if you are already certified and need to update your credentials. Simply call at least three different companies and ask them how much they charge for residential building inspection certification classes, and what you receive for that fee. The real estate inspection market is not one that should charge exorbitant fees for obtaining or renewing a license, so you should not have to spend a great deal of money. If you speak to a company that is unusually expensive, that does not mean that it offers a greater advantage than more affordable programs. As long as the company has certified professionals teaching the building inspection classes, then you should consider them a good choice.

Finally, you will need to find out exactly what materials you will receive for your money. Most residential structural inspection class instructors will provide participants with in class training materials, follow up information, and online resources to keep the new information fresh in your mind. The company should also offer good customer service to answer any questions prior to signing up, during the course, and afterward to ensure your satisfaction and success. They have a vested interest in doing so, since they will want you to return for future inspection renewal courses.

By following the above guidelines, you can ensure that you will get the most relevant and current information necessary to choose the best building inspection class in your area. That allows you to focus on what you do best: residential building inspections!

Fans Buy Cubs Jerseys

Midwesterners love their baseball teams. No matter what the weather deals, families are often found at the ball park, decked out in matching Cubs fan gear.

Picture the Wrigley Field ball park, packed with fans, cheering and then moaning as their Chicago Cubs swing at a sinking ball. Mom and Dad wear matching Cubs jerseys, topped by their Chicago Cubs caps, bills turned to the back, while shouting encouragement to their favorite players. Bouncing up and down beside them are the kids, each sporting a Cubs T shirt and cap. The kids may not understand all of the action, but they sure do enjoy the noise of the fans. Where else can a kid let loose all that energetic enthusiasm? This is family activity that spawns a lifetime of happy memories. A tradition of support for their team, that is there for everyone to see in the form of clothing sporting the big red Cubs C.

Midwestern weather is extremely variable. There is a good reason Chicago is called the windy city. A day without a brisk westerly wind provokes television news comments. All summer the possibility of thunderstorms exists almost daily due to heat and humidity. The hardy Cubs fans ignore weather and turn out in droves to support their team. Cooler weather calls for an authentic Cubs sweatshirt over the Cubs jersey. A rain delay only means more time to socialize with other fans also outfitted in Chicago Cubs hats and Cubs jerseys while the ground crews cover the field. Even if the rain lasts for a couple of hours, the hardy fans will stay at the Wrigley Field ball park, secure in the knowledge that their team will make it all exciting. Eventually the thunderstorm passes, the field is uncovered and once again play is underway. This is the stuff of tradition. We look over a sea of fans sporting Chicago Cubs caps. They are sitting on the bleachers munching hotdogs, watching for the errant foul ball that could be the next souvenir, and thoroughly enjoying being alive in the moment that makes each baseball game memorable.

When a game is away, the fans watch from their living room television sets, surrounded by icons of their team. Souvenirs from previous games are often scattered around the house. They provide a happy reminder of all the fun they have had together. There may be a family picture taken at the ball park of everyone decked out in their Cubs jerseys and Chicago Cubs caps, showing off the foul ball they captured.

Being a fan is serious business for the supporters of the Chicago Cubs. Purchasing authentic Cubs gear, and wearing their Cubs jerseys as they go about their daily activities is their way to show their support. When another Cubs fan spots them, there is an instant connection between them, a good feeling as each knows that even if they are strangers to each other, they belong to the society called Chicago Cubs fans.

Vehicle Shipping: How Does It Work?

If you are preparing to make a big move whether it be overseas or across the state you need to find a reliable vehicle shipping company which can move your vehicle while ensuring its safety during the trip. Most of us think of our car as an important part of our daily lives and you would want a vehicle shipping company whose service you can rely upon and trust.
The first step within this process is having your car picked up by the vehicle shipping company. This usually happens from the comfort of your home however, you may be required to meet the vehicle shipping company at a nearby parking lot. Within some of the larger cities the companies often require sufficient space to allow them to maneuver their large shipping trucks around so this alternate arrangement works well for safety reasons.
After your car has been picked up you will receive updates during the moving process. Staying informed about your vehicle shipping status is vital since you will need to be available when the time comes to pick your car up when it arrives. In the event that you will find it necessary to go and meet the auto shipper you will not be far from home and the vehicle shipping company will be able to provide directions if needed.
If possible your vehicle shipping company will provide delivery straight to your home. It will be required that you be home in order to pay the driver of the car transport truck and to take delivery of your vehicle. Upon arrival you should have cash, check or a money order for the exact amount on hand.

What Else Do I Need To Know?

If you have an antique car or a vehicle which has a high monetary or sentimental value you will want to employ the services of vehicle shipping companies which offer transport trucks which are covered. Covered transport truck will provide adequate protection for your car from any sort of accidental damage and is generally a good idea if you normally keep your car in a garage.
Using a vehicle shipping company which offers covered car transport vehicles is important should you reside or be moving to a state which experiences severe cold or excessive heat conditions such as Massachusetts or Florida. The sun, snow and rain can quickly damage your cars exterior if it is unprotected so make sure that you are aware of the sort of vehicle which your car transport company will be using.
You should realize that if you are shipping your car from state to state for example, from Florida to Massachusetts you will be required to keep your personal belongings out of the vehicle. These types of inter-state moves are common for car transport companies so you need not concern yourself with the worry that your car may accidentally end up elsewhere.
You can ask your car transport company for verification of their certification. This means that the vehicle shipping company is licensed and properly insured and can legally transport vehicles overseas and throughout the continental states.

All You Wanted To Know About Auto Glass

Have you ever wondered what it could take to have your auto glass replaced? The primary reason of course would be a cracked wind shield or window, which can result from accidents and arsenal. Also, people who love restoring old and antique vehicles often learn that the older glass used on cars of yesteryear usually do not have scratch proof glass installed and as a result they spoil the overall feel of the car. Glass repair is not only impractical but is often impossible. The best way you can bring a spotless look to the glass is auto glass replacement. You would be surprised to see the difference when you replace a scratched windshield on your vehicle.

Although your everyday garage will often be only too willing to undertake your windshield replacement, do remember that this job is best left to a specialist dedicated to this purpose. For example, if you were in a place like Minneapolis, you could easily find specialists for your windscreen repair solutions. Such companies can do a better job than your corner garage when you need to replace or repair your auto glass – not only are they better equipped to do this than anyone else, but most specialists would also provide a lifetime guarantee to the fitting. Remember, your car windshields and windows need to be secured so well that they leave no room for your car heating or air conditioning to escape. You may therefore imagine that it should be a much simpler process replacing the auto glass on a convertible but it is in fact even more of a specialist’s job keeping in mind the lack of frame support.

Do remember that most glass replacement specialists that will replace or repair your general home glass needs, such as patio or window glass, will also undertake your auto glass replacements and repairs. This would come as a surprise to most people who are not well informed about this industry, but when you think of it replacing car windows and replacement of your patio windows is not that much different. It is true however that the mechanics who replace auto glass need adequate knowledge on car door interiors especially where motorized windows are installed. But the specialist will usually not undertake the job unless they have a qualified mechanical person on hand. Next time you are thinking of having your auto glass repaired or replaced, you know where to look! It is better getting the job done with a glass specialist rather than an auto specialist.

Do not put up with freezing winds that seep in through cracked auto glass. In some cases the glass may not be damaged or cracked, but the air could get in or out through the edges. In such case it is a much simpler and cheaper job to replace the lining on the frames of your window or windshield, and once again a glass specialist is best suited to this job, although a garage will probably be able to do a satisfactory job as well.

Types of Concrete Bollards

A concrete bollard can be found in almost any place today that needs to be protected from people either driving in the area or trying to get around an area. Many are made of decorative concrete to look nice where they are sitting.

Cement bollards are also found down by the docks used as a mooring structure. The concrete bollards are usually attached to a concrete block to help keep them stable. You can also find a concrete bollard in front of many concrete steps so that you don’t fall off at the side. Traffic bollards are used to keep traffic in a straight line or to guide the cars around other obstacles while there are people working in the area. There are also some concrete traffic bollards that have flashing lights. These can alert drivers to potential problems in the road ahead.

Landscape bollards are used to help outline a path and as a form of sculpture in the gardens and walkways. Concrete retaining walls are another example of concrete bollards. These are used to help prevent noise pollution when a housing community is next to the interstate. Concrete fences are also used in these situations to reduce any type of noise from getting through to the other side.

Security bollards are used in front of many places to keep people from ramming or driving into their front doors. These concrete bollards sit outside the front door and allow foot travelers to come through but not cars. The bollards design is that of a vertical concrete keystone. However, they can be circular or square in their design. Likewise, when you park your car, you will find parking bollards to keep you from running into the car in front of you. Some of these concrete bollards are smaller than most and consist of only a two foot horizontal line.

A good concrete foundation is needed for most architectural bollards. These can include curbing on each side of the road, curb extensions that make the road narrower, and those concrete bollards that are in the middle of the street that pedestrians can stand on while waiting to cross. There are also some traffic bollards that are used to close off streets so that only pedestrians can use the road.

Concrete bollards are also used around the gas pumps at a gas station. Some of these can also be plastic bollards instead of concrete. These bollards are used to help keep people from running into the gas pumps by accident. This is a safety feature of the concrete bollard. They aid the driver in staying straight when he pulls up to the pump instead of going in crooked.

The neat thing about concrete bollards is they come in almost any shape or size you need. Whether they are traffic bollards, plastic bollards, landscape bollards, garden bollards, or parking bollards, you can get them in any form that is required. You can even get them in the shape of a basketball or baseball for the stadium or in the shape of a ghost for Halloween. Concrete bollards are durable and long lasting. They give you plenty of choice concerning the color and texture you want for your project.
